We took a flyer and planted some Malbec on a nice down slope that faces east at our Swede Road vineyard.  The fruit develops early and huge, long clusters with large berries - much larger than any other vinifera that we grow.  The vines are a bit particular around winter weather so we take extra care to lay the vines down on the ground before winter each year to protect the buds under a blanket of insulating snow.  Despite our efforts, we continue to lose vines and this may be our last single varietal Malbec.
